KIELDER: ONSITE was a collaborative project between Newcastle University’s Fine Art Department and Kielder Art & Architecture. During 2016, Kielder: Onsite provided opportunities for students to make a series of temporary site responsive artworks that explored contemporary interrelated themes of narrative, identity, place and transience within Kielder Water & Forest Park.
Although the artworks were planned to be deinstalled at the end of September 2016, a few have been retained along the Duchess Trail and are expected to remain in place through 2017.
Retained works include Breathing Traces Time, Leina Taylor; Being there, J J Lloyd; Pyramidal Edifice, Anthony Hensman; and A Long Wait, Mirela Bistran. Simon Court's Waveform is currently in storage but is planned to be reinstalled in the Lewisburn inlet in spring 2017.
